What is Falando?
Falando is a Brazilian Portuguese learning platform with grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, and practice features designed for fast, practical, and structured progress.
Unlike apps that try to teach many languages at once, Falando focuses on Brazilian Portuguese and Brazilian culture for a more immersive experience.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free users can access all A1 content, while paid users can access the full catalog. New users can experience the paid content for 7-days, no strings attached, no credit card required.
How do I upgrade?
You can upgrade from inside the app when you open restricted content or by visiting the subscription page. If you need help, email contact@falando.app.
Do you have a mobile app for Android or iPhone?
We have an Android app in Beta Test stage - which basically means you can download it from Play Store and use normally, see more details on the Android Beta Test page.
Falando also works well as a progressive web app, which means you can install it from your browser and use it almost like a native app.
On Android
- Open Falando in Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium-based browser.
- Wait for the page to finish loading.
- Use the browser prompt or menu option for "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
- Confirm the installation.
On iPhone / iPad
- Open Falando in Safari.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Select "Add to Home Screen".
- Confirm to install the app shortcut.
Is the content on Falando AI-generated?
Kind of! Our content was AI-generated, which is unfortunately a necessity if you want to compete with big services like Duolingo, but, on top of already being high-quality, it's now being refined and corrected every day with the help of volunteer Brazilians who are testing the app. Our goal is to make Falando profitable enough to hire natives to review it on a regular basis.
Is the audio recorded by natives?
Most of our material as of now is based on high-quality text-to-speech tuned to Brazilian Portuguese but we are currently in the process of replacing all of it with recordings by Brazilian natives, with new ones being uploaded each week. Our goal is to to avoid using TTS wherever possible and replace it with native speech to ensure a more human-based listening experience.
How do I report a bug or give feedback?
You can use the feedback flow inside the app or email
