Where it is said
Understood everywhere in Brazil.
How it is used
Dictionaries define poncã more precisely as the large, loose-skinned Ponkan tangerine. In everyday naming, however, ALiB also recorded poncã as an answer for tangerine in every Brazilian macroregion. It is neutral and widely understood, but it can be more specific than tangerina.
