Meaning
To be completely lost / Clueless
Example
Eu fui a uma festa semana passada, estava mais perdido que cego em tiroteio.
I was at a party last week, I was completely lost.
Origin
The image is graphic: someone so disoriented in a crossfire they can neither see nor flee. The phrase is attested as Brazilian popular speech from the 20th century, most likely dating to the era of urban gun violence that gave rise to many 'tiroteio' metaphors.
