Portuguese affirmation goes beyond a simple "yes", with expressions for agreement, certainty, accepting a plan and positive reactions. Sim is valid in everyday and formal contexts; choose among the alternatives according to meaning, tone and situation.
Portuguese has several ways to affirm, confirm or react positively: neutral sim, emphatic com certeza!, and others.
Sim is valid in everyday and formal settings. Claro, com certeza and isso mesmo add their own meanings; tone affects how they sound.
You can echo the verb, conjugated for the speaker: Você vai? → Vou!. A reply with sim is also possible.

Colloquial affirmative responses and positive reactions include beleza, pode crer, fechado and show; they are not interchangeable in every question.

Pois não can confirm or mean How can I help you?, especially when receiving a customer in Brazil. The negative-looking form does not make it a refusal.
Pois sim can express doubt or sarcasm (Yeah, right), but it can also be affirmative. Interpret it through context and tone.
A tag like "Não é?" can be confirmed with "É!". A reply with sim is also possible, depending on the statement and context.
Write com certeza as two words: com (with) + certeza (certainty). Concerteza is a spelling error; connected pronunciation does not make it one written word. Source: portugues.com.br.
