Lazing around / kicking back / floating along
Passei o domingo de bubuia, sem sair de casa.
I spent Sunday just lazing around at home.
Bubuia comes from the Tupi mbe'bui (or mbe'mbuya) — a light, floating thing drifting on the water. Amazonian Portuguese kept the word, and de bubuia = 'just floating along, doing nothing.
