1. Ask Where a Place Is
Use onde fica for places and services:
- Onde fica a rodoviária?
- Onde fica o centro?
- Onde fica a recepção?
Use onde está more for people and objects:
- Onde está minha bagagem?
- Onde está o motorista?
- Onde está o mapa?
2. Ask How to Get There
A very useful travel pattern is:
- Como chego ao aeroporto?
- Como chego ao hotel?
- Como chego à praia?
You will also hear:
- É por aqui?
- Onde eu pego o ônibus?
- Qual metrô vai para o centro?
3. Say Where You Are Going or Coming From
Use ir for going and vir for coming:
- Vou ao aeroporto.
- Vou para a rodoviária.
- Venho do hotel.
- Venho do centro.
Very common transport patterns:

4. Prepositions and Contractions Matter
Travel Portuguese uses contractions all the time:
